Lilly was born in Germany and emigrated to the U.S while still a teenager, leaving her family behind. She met Edward Sam Kelly (Eddie) shortly thereafter, and they were soon married. Lilly had a wide range of interests and participated in numerous activities. Most importantly, she took great pride in being a lifelong, ‘professional' volunteer at her church, Our Lady of the Cedars in Fairlawn, Ohio. And enjoyed the friends she made at the Kenmore Community Center. She was also a seasoned ‘world traveler', having visited many exotic locales and every city that was home to one of your kids. Preceded in death by her parents, brothers, and Eddie, Lilly leaves behind daughters Pat Ferguson (husband Nate), Christina LeMaster (husband Greg), and Lisa Lewis (husband Jeff), and sons Sam (wife Janet), Mike, and Scott (husband Salim). She also took great pride in her beloved grandchildren; Bethany, Madison, Daniel, Andrew, and Dakota. A personal message from her ‘kids': Mom, you have taught us to be like you; loving and generous people who are always looking for ways to help others. Whether it be your time - making one of your fantastic dishes; or your gifts - you always seem to come up with the right gift tailored to the person receiving it. Also, giving rides to friends to wherever they need to go. And last, but not least, we can always count on that special birthday, Easter, and Christmas card. I think it is a great reflection on you that your ‘kids' - now age 55 to 65- still strive to be like you. There isn't one of us who wouldn't give a person in need our last nickel, just like you would. In fact, we even picked partners who do the same thing. We also admire your strength of character, to be a young girl in a war-torn country- seeing things no adult should ever see - stay strong and help your family to get to your new home in Karlstadt, Bavaria, Germany. It also took courage to come to a new country without speaking the language and start a new life. Mom, we just want to thank you for being the best mom for us, and always with your unconditional love. We love you so very much. Funeral services will be at Our Lady of the Cedars Church in Fairlawn, Ohio, on Saturday, July 11th, at 10 A.M., with a short reception to follow. Please note: Face masks and social distancing are a requirement for attending. If you don't have a mask, they be will available at the entrance, as well as hand sanitizer. Please respect the family's wishes.
