Lester Thaddeus Wigal April 9, 1928 - April 22, 2014 Les Wigal, 86, went to be with the Lord at his home in Irvine, CA after suffering a stroke. Les moved to California in 2013, after living the last 10 years in Chagrin Falls, OH. Born in Barberton, OH, Les graduated from Kenmore High School, followed by the University of Akron in 1951. He served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War while stationed in Brooklyn, NY. Les earned his CPA license, was employed at several firms, beginning at Price Waterhouse before heading his own Accounting firm while in Copley. Les and Elizabeth Carver Wigal, married 57 years, raised their family in Copley before retiring to Chagrin Falls, where Les acted in Community Theater. Elizabeth died from Alzheimer's in 2007. He is survived by his brother, Keith (Cheryl) Wigal, Massillon, OH, three children: Tim (Sharon) Wigal, Irvine, CA, Terry Wigal, Cuyahoga Falls, OH and Melissa Flaherty, Nashville, TN; five grandchildren: Sara (Tom) Beigle, Cory Wigal, Jake Wigal, Lauren Flaherty and Ashlyn Flaherty as well as nephews and nieces. Les was loved and cherished by his family and friends due to his kindness, servanthood and sacrifice. A Church Deacon, a Bible Study Leader, a train hobbyist, a golfer, a bird-watcher and an avid reader, Les was a lifelong fan of the Indians and Browns and recently started painting. He will be remembered as a man of integrity who loved God, family and music. A service celebrating he has 'fought the good fight', 'finished the race', and 'kept the faith' will begin at the Greenlawn Memorial Park Ivy Chapel, 2569 Romig Road in Akron on Monday April 28, 2014 at 1pm.
