He took great pride in his work as a Master Carpenter and Builder. There are many businesses, homes and his church where he has left his mark with beautiful designs. His biggest love and legacy was his family, he was devoted to loving and providing for his wife and eleven children. Grandchildren and great- grandchildren were an added blessing; they lit up his life, they loved his silly wit and humor. He was always available to help, and love unconditionally. With patience and discipline, he taught his sons and daughters many tricks of his trade, especially his ingenious ways to use duct tape. He was stronger than we ever knew, especially in his last weeks. He was an inspiration of a life well lived and loved. The family would like to thank Summa Hospice Care, especially Nurse Meg, who was so patient, kind, and caring. Calling hours will be Friday 4-7 pm at the Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St. Akron, Ohio 44304. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 Saturday at Visitation of Mary (formerly Annunciation), 87 Broad St. Akron. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
