LaVonne R. Zimmerman passed into her eternal life on September 15, 2015, following a lengthy battle with Parkinson's Disease. Family members were with her at her passing. LaVonne was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her life was centered on her family. She and her husband of 62 years, John, made homes in Hamilton, NewYork, Montgomery, Alabama, Akron, Ohio, McLean, Virginia, and Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. LaVonne was active in church activities, a long time hospital volunteer, and active in many other charitable activities. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Rebecca Brown, Jeffrey Zimmerman, Amy MacNeil and their spouses, Douglas Brown, Amy Zimmerman, and Ray MacNeil. Also surviving, grandchildren, Megan Minifie and her husband, Joseph, Kristen Brown, Josh Zimmerman, Allison Zimmerman, Jennifer Larimore and Emily Bohn and her husband, John. Emily and John have a son, Jack, who is LaVonne's first great grandchild. A private service for the family was held in Akron, Ohio, LaVonne's place of birth, on September 23, 2015. Burial was in Rose Hill Burial Park in Akron, Ohio. Arrangements were handled by the Hummel Funeral Home.
