Kendra Hesidence

NORTH CANTON - Kendra Ann Hesidence best known as 'Candy' passed away peacefully in Daytona Beach FL the morning of January 9 2012 from complications with pneumonia. She was 66 years old born March 1 1945 in Brockton MA. She married her loving husband David on Easter Day 1968 in Brockton MA and had one son Daniel who shares her brilliant sense of humor and compassion for anyone she met. In the 1970's Candy served as the head of Library Circulation at Akron University and the Librarian of Rankin Elementary Public School. She then found her dream job as Librarian at Northwood Elementary School in North Canton where she spent the balance of her career retiring in 2003. Her unselfish love of children lasted until her death volunteering her time at the public elementary schools in Florida. She inspired many of her young students to not only love books but to be caring of others. She is survived by her wonderful husband David Hesidence of N. Canton; her loving son Daniel Hesidence of Long Island City NY; and sister Gail Uhlman of Bridgewater MA; along with a host of close nieces nephews cousins and friends. Calling hours will be held on Friday January 13th at the REED FUNERAL HOME NORTH CANTON CHAPEL 801 Pittsburg Ave NW N. Canton OH 44720 from 4-8 PM. Mass will be held in her honor Saturday January 14th 1:00 PM at St. Paul's Church 241 South Main Street North Canton OH 44720. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Neonatal Intensive Care: Akron Children's Hospital One Perkins Square Akron Ohio 44308.
