VIEW LIFE TRIBUTEKathleen Marie (Mervis) Schmidt 69 passed away peacefully January 17 2009 at home among her loving family. Kathleen was born October 23 1939 in Pittsburgh PA and was a lifelong resident of Akron. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1957 and was a parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul for 50 years. She is preceded in death by her son Jeffrey Allen Schmidt and her mother Mary Yadamec Mervis and is survived by her husband of nearly fifty years Joseph Phillip Schmidt Jr. sons Joseph Phillip Schmidt III John Henry Schmidt daughter Karen Elaine Schmidt daughter-in-law Ramona Hawn Schmidt her grandchildren Stephanie Megan and Jennifer Ann Schmidt of Houston TX and several cousins. Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday January 21 at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent Church 164 W. Market St Akron. Entombment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange Street Akron OH 44304 on Tuesday evening from 4-7 PM.
