Katherine Taormina

Katherine Taormina age 94 completed her life on July 1 2013 in Mesa Arizona where she left us to be in the presence of our Lord. Katherine was born on September 18 1918 to the late Leonard and Antonia 'Annie' Lipovsky in Barberton Ohio. She was married to Sam Taormina for 72 years until his death in 2010. She lived a long and good life as an example to others. Her heart went out to those less fortunate. She was always ready with a kind word and will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Being a gifted hair dresser she owned K.T.'s Beauty Salon. Working for over 50 years in the beauty industry Katie was awarded by the National Beauty Salon Association. She was very proud of that accomplishment. She continued working until her 85th birthday. She had to have done tens of thousands upon thousands of beautiful hairstyles in her very long working career. Katie gave selflessly in all of her endeavors and spread God's love to all she encountered. Her beauty shone from within by her loving manner and demeanor with everyone she met. Katie leaves behind her loving daughter Clorenda (Don) Berquist; granddaughters Krissann (Jeff) Torok and Gina (David) Allison; great grandchildren Justin and Kenna Allison and Julian and Summer Torok and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her husband Sam Taormina; sister and two brothers. Graveside service will be Tuesday July 30 at 11:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park (Section Y).
