Katherine Martucci

Katherine Dilley Thorpe Martucci 48 passed away July 18 2013 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Kathy was born December 4 1964 in Akron OH. She attended St. Vincent Elementary School graduated from St. Vincent - St. Mary High School in 1983 and went on to receive a B.S. in Marketing from the University of Akron. Kathy then met her wonderful husband Brian and began her journey as an amazingly devoted and loving wife and mother. An incredibly kind and doting sister aunt niece daughter and friend Kathy spread only love and compassion throughout her life even during her own suffering. She found solace and strength in her incredible faith and was a Christ-like example for all. Words cannot express how much Kathy will be missed by those who love her. Kathy was a member of St. Joseph Parish Pi Beta Phi Sorority and had enjoyed her volunteer work with the Junior League of Akron in years passed. She devoted the last few years to her candy business ''Sweets By Dilley'' and loved making new friends while selling her candy at local markets. Kathy is preceded in death by her mother Barbara D. Thorpe father John Thorpe Grandparents Gilbert and Marguerite Dilley and John Arthur and Josephine Thorpe; aunts Kitty Dilley and Joanne Morrison uncles Fred Dannemiller and Bill and Jim Thorpe;and father-in-law John Martucci. She is survived by her loving husband of 19 years Brian Martucci and children; Barbara Dilley Natalie Elizabeth James Thorpe and Kristina Katherine; sister Elizabeth (Barry) Tavolier; brother Jay (Wendy) Thorpe; nieces and nephews Brian Katherine and Elizabeth Tavolier J.D. and Sydney Thorpe Nicholas Evan and Colleen Martucci Marissa Martucci Marco Martucci Melissa Bruce Michelle Bryan Megan Gill Madeline and Dylan Garritano; and grand nieces and nephew Kayla Hannah and Ryan Gill Uncle William Dilley Aunt Joanne Dannemiller mother-in-law Ellen Martucci; brothers and sisters in law John and Sherry Martucci Michalene Martucci Paul and Laura Martucci Mary Foley Caroline and Steve Garritano and many cousins extended family and friends. Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 23 2013 from 4-7 PM at the Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. Akron. Mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday July 24 2013 10 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church 1761 2nd St. Cuyahoga Falls. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery to follow.
