Joseph L. Hassing Jr., a devoted family man and beloved member of his community, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025, at the age of 71. Born on July 19, 1953, Joseph lived a life filled with love, laughter, and an appreciation for the simple joys of life.
A man who cherished his family above all else, Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Mary, his children, Paul, Brian, and Mary Caitlin, and his treasured grandchildren, Kayne, Barrett, and Brody. His family was his greatest pride, and he found immense joy in the time spent with them.
Joseph's passion for life was evident in the way he embraced his favorite pastime-working in the yard with a beer in his hand. Whether mowing the lawn, tending to the garden, or simply soaking in the sun, he found peace and satisfaction being outside.
He will be remembered for his warm heart, his unshakable dedication to his loved ones, and his ability to find happiness in life's simplest pleasures. Joseph had a unique way of making those around him feel valued and appreciated, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
There will be two services to celebrate Joseph's life. The first will a Mass of Christian Burial on February 21, 2025 at 5:00pm at St. Bernards in Akron, Ohio. The second will be held in Littleton, Colorado at a later date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Parkinson's Association of Southwest Florida https://parkinsonassociationswfl.org or National Multiple Sclerosis Society https://donate.nationalmssociety.org honoring his legacy and the values he held dear.
