Joseph Alger

Joseph Alger, 85, of Copley, Ohio passed away on July 22, 2017 surrounded by family and now rests in the gentle hands of the Lord. Joseph was born on August 3, 1931 in Cleveland, Ohio. Joe was a graduate of Kent State University, served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, worked at Allstate Insurance Company for over 32 years, and was a member of Saint Hilary Church for over 30 years. Joe's passion was golf and he succeeded in capturing the elusive hole-in-one, not once but twice. He most enjoyed being involved with his family and grandchildren's many activities. Joe was a dedicated husband of 55 years to his beloved wife, Barbara. He was a loving father to his pride and joy, Karen Bartlebaugh (Thomas), a very proud and loving grandfather to Ashley MacDougall (Will), Heather (Drew), Nicole and Kristen, and great grandfather (Papa Joe) to Emilia and Joe. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, July 28, 2017 at 9:30 AM at St. Hilary Catholic Church, 2750 W. Market St. Entombment will take place at Rose Hill Burial Park. Donations may be made in Joe's name to the St. Hilary School Athletic Association, 2750 W. Market St, Fairlawn, OH 44333.
