Jon Thompson

Jon Paul Thompson (JP), 27 of Barberton, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 28, 2015. Jon was born in Akron on May 29,1988 to Angela Thompson and Dennis Roberts. Jon had two brothers Jacob Thompson and Kevin Tinney and one sister Lacey Tinney. Jon was very bright, he attended college at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina where he graduated with honors with a degree in political science. He went onto Georgia State University where he obtained a masters in global communications. Jon was very athletic, he loved running and working out. He was an avid reader and enjoyed Harry Potter. He was a black belt in karate. Jon loved spending time with his brother Jacob and when he was younger he spent his summers in North Carolina with his favorite aunt Shannon and his best friend and cousin Ardie. He had a great sense of humor. He will be missed deeply by many. Jon is survived by his parents, maternal grandmother, siblings and many aunts uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his stepfather Tommy Thompson. Jon had a very kind and loving heart. Friends may call on Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 12 noon until the time of service at 1pm at Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange Street Akron with Pastor Jeff Martell officiating. Interment in Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. Donations may be made to a charity of choice.
