John Tuccillo 78 passed away on Saturday September 14 2013. John the youngest of four children was born on June 24 1935 to the late Salvatore and Marta (Treglia) Tuccillo in Minturno Italy. The family came to the United States when John was two years old and they settled in Akron. John was a graduate of Kenmore High School in 1953. He attended Ohio State University and then he proudly served his country in the US Army in Korea. Upon returning from the service he attended the University of Akron. He joined his father in the family business Tuccillo Landscape Service Company. From a company that was primarily lawn maintenance John expanded the business to include landscape design installation and construction. He retired at the age of 62. John married his wife Marie in 1966. They wintered at Fiddlesticks Golf Community in Florida for over 20 years making many lasting friendships. John liked to travel and enjoyed the competitiveness of golf and especially the comradery of golfing with his friends. He was a member of Fairlawn Country Club and Fiddlesticks Country Club. He attended Fairlawn Lutheran Church. John was a man of compassion kind and caring with many friends from all walks of life. He had a wonderful personality that made him a favorite of his many nieces nephews and the children of his friends. In recent years great nieces and nephews and the grandchildren of his friends have come to love him as well. During his illness his greatest concern was not for himself but for Marie. John is survived by Marie his wife of 46 years brother and sister-in law Anthony and Sandra Tuccillo; sister-in-law Adeline (Robert) Wadel; brother-in-law Adam (Cindy)Miller; nieces nephews cousins and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Mary Triola and Civita Noethen. A memorial service with be held at Fairlawn Lutheran Church 3415 West Market St. Akron Ohio 44333 on Friday September 20 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Charles D. Lentner officiating. Private family entombment at Rose Hill Burial Park prior to the memorial service.
