John Trecaso

March 14, 1923 — January 8, 2015

John A. Trecaso of Akron, 91, died on Thursday, January 8, 2015. John was a life resident of Akron, retired from Wells Trecaso Financial Group at Morgan Stanley and Paine Webber after 41 years of service. Prior to that, he worked for B.F. Goodrich for 19 years where he worked with the original Mercury 7 Astronauts on their spacesuits. John served his country proudly in WWII as a member of The US Army. Participated in Akron's first Soap Box Derby in 1934 with his brother Joe. He was a member of St. Sebastian Church, Portage Country Club, The University of Akron Alumni Association, Francesca Residence, Bluecoats and he was also a member of the Board of Akron General Medical Center and its Development Foundation. John was preceded in death by his parents, Anna Rose and Flaviano Trecaso; his 2nd wife Dorothy S.Trecaso and 1st wife Marcella Trecaso brothers, Joseph S. and Paul G. Trecaso; sister, M. Sundelle Gurgle, and nephew, Joseph F. Trecaso. John loved his Italian heritage and family and leaves behind many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank his many caregivers especially Barb Baitz and his dear friend Barb Mullin for their care and love for John. John was respected and loved (sometimes disliked) for his direct candor on many subjects. He was a trusted advisor to his clients. John's generosity, honesty and integrity are the cornerstones of his legacy. John was FIRST CLASS. John would be happy to know the Dow was up over 300 points on the day of his passing. He will be missed. Especially on the 1st Tee at Portage Country Club. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11a.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at St. Sebastian Church. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park, with procession forming at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Vincent-St. Mary Foundation c/o The Joseph F.
