John Traub

John Michael Traub 85 of Akron died September 5 2006 at The Village at St. Edward. He served in the U.S. Army as a Captain in the 14th Armored Division during WWII. John retired in 1975 as Captain of the Akron Police Department after 29 years of service. John was preceded in death by his parents Anton and Rosina; sisters Elizabeth Rose Mary and Anna; brother Anton and son-in-law Edward Carter. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth 'Betty' of 63 years; daughters Ann (Nicholas) Yancura of Villages FL Patricia (Paul) McKee of Akron and Susan Carter of Columbus OH; grandchildren Daniel Yancura of Medina Elizabeth (William) Harrod of Woodbury MN Michael (Sarah) McKee of Maitland FL Edward and Matthew Carter of Columbus OH; and great grandchild Andrew McKee of Maitland FL. Mass of Christian Burial Friday September 8 2006 10:00 AM at St. Sebastian Catholic Church 476 Mull Ave. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment in Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Sebastian Elementary School 500 Mull Ave. Akron OH 44320 and The Village at St. Edward 3125 Smith Road Fairlawn OH 44333.
