John Stimac

VIEW VIDEO TRUBUTE John 'Evan' J. Stimac 89 passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 2 2005 surrounded by his loved ones. Born on September 15 1916 to Anna and Samuel Stimac he resided in the Akron area all of his life. He worked for the former Pfleuger Company in Akron during the war where he met and married his wife Rose. He later worked for The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company retiring January of 1979 with 28 years of service. A founding member of St. Hilary Catholic Church John spent his retirement fishing in Canada with his friends from Goodyear dancing on Saturday nights at the Eagles Club and playing golf at Loyal Oak Golf Course. Preceded in death by parents Anna and Samuel brother Sam and dear cousin Paul Yalsovac. He is survived by his wife Rose (Beri) to whom he was married 66 years sister Helen of Connecticut daughters Judy (Tom) Valatka of Norton Rosemary Paddy of Barberton son Richard (Ruth) of Norton grandchildren Tracy Scott Pam Dan (Sally) Eric Ryan great-grandchildren Samantha and Dan Paddy and nieces Carol Ann Dawson and Deborah Litz. The family would like to extend its sincere appreciation to all of the caring staff at Pleasant View Healthcare Center for making his last years tolerable and to the angels caring for him at Hospice Care Center on Ridgewood Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday November 7 2005 9:30 am at St. Hilary Catholic Church 2750 W. Market Street. Interment in the Greenlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. Akron Sunday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service 3358 Ridgewood Rd. Fairlawn OH 44333. God saw you getting weary And He did as He knew best He wrapped His loving arms around you And said 'Come my son and rest' He opened up His golden gates On that heartbreaking day And with His arms around you You gently slipped away
