John Moirano

September 29, 1923 — January 29, 2011

John A. Moirano 87 of Copley peacefully passed away on January 29 2011 surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his wife Evelyn (the love of his life); his parents Joe and Lena; his sister Honey and her husband Chris Gaone; his brother Babe; and his brother-in-law Dick Hofacker. John leaves his children Debra (David Lucas); Valerie (Marty Caruso); John II; and Tammy (Kenny Colucy); grandchildren Sean Evan Dominic and Alexis; sisters Pet (Jim) Procaccio and Tillie Hofacker; brother Eugene (Pat) Moirano; sisters-in-law Margaret Edith and Barb; and dozens of nieces nephews and many good friends. John served in the 356th Infantry in Okinawa. He transferred to 616 Heavy Equipment Engineers. John was a proud charter member of Copley VFW Post 7971 and American Legion Post 473. He retired from Goodyear Aircraft after 41 ½ years of service and was an Assistant Boy Scout Leader for Troop 381 for 25 years. Dad was strong dependable generous and always there for help or advice. We are lucky to have had such wonderful parents and to have beautiful family memories to help us through this loss. We know they are together watching over us. We love you Dad. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday February 2 2011 at Hummel Funeral Home COPLEY 3475 Copley Rd. Entombment in Rose Hill Burial Park where Copley VFW Post 7971 and American Legion Post 473 will lead military honors. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday evening February 1 from 3-7 PM.
