VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTEOur beloved husband father and grandpa John Mayer age 61 of Cuyahoga Falls went to Heaven on May 27 2009. John was born in Tiefenbronn Germany on November 5 1947 to Maryann and John Mayer SR. Preceding him in death were his parents; sister Katherina; and niece Eva. He is survived by wife Elizabeth Mayer; daughters Lisa Beth; grandchildren Jeremiah Johnny Ava; brother Phillip; sisters Anna Marie Christina; great aunt Katherina Karach; numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews. John was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict proudly serving in the United States Marine Corps. He was also a member of the VFW Post # 1062 in Cuyahoga Falls. He was employed at Prospect Mold for over 35 years. He will be missed by all of his family and friends and will remain forever in their hearts. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday June 2 2009 9:30 AM at St. Bernard Church 44 University Avenue Akron. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery Cuyahoga Falls with full military honors. Friends may call at Hummel Funeral Home 500 East Exchange Street Akron on Monday June 1 2009 from 5-8 PM. VFW Post #1062 will perform honors ceremony.
