John Lutz

John Gilbert Lutz age 84 passed away on December 29 2013. He was born on September 13 1929 in Queens Boro New York to the late James and Catherine Lutz. John enlisted in the United States Army in 1948 and attained the rank of staff sergeant while attached to the 14th Armed Cavalry Constabulary in occupied Germany. After his Honorable Discharge in 1963 he was employed by the U.S. Postal Service from which he retired with 35 years of active service. John was a member of the American Legion Post 449 and VFW Post 3383. Preceded in death by his wife Norma and sons Bruce and Brian Lutz; he is survived by his children Kathleen Bye of Bogota Columbia Phillip Lutz of Cleveland Kristine and Timothy Lutz both of California and siblings Joseph Lutz Margaret Thompson Marian Xanthos and Agnes Wilson. Calling hours will be Thursday 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at the Hummel Funeral Home 3475 Copley Rd. Copley Ohio. Private Burial will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
