John Kelley

John Kelley 82 passed away on Tuesday December 23. He was a lifelong resident of Akron a graduate of Buchtel High School and Kent State University. During WWII he served in the U.S. Navy in naval aviation ordinance. John taught industrial arts and biology at Richfield School. He retired from Goodyear Aerospace with 44 1/2 years service in Design Service Engineering. During retirement John was an active volunteer at Akron General Medical Center in the Senior Access Program. He was an avid gardener and woodworker. John was preceded in death by his parents Richard P. and Lois M. Kelley and brother James P. Kelley. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Sarah Jane (Witt) Kelley; and children Sari Kelley (Jay Kent) of Lancaster OH; Barbara (Nick) Vitale; Paul (Susan Olson) Kelley of Salt Lake City UT; Marguerite (Eric) Nank; Martha (Hector) Martinez of Houston TX; Rebecca (Rev. Kenneth) Gifford of Willard OH; Amy Kelley - Good; Tamzin (Michael) O'Neil of Rocky River OH; grandchildren James Vitale; Madaline Good; Malena and Katie Nicholson; Cooper Nank; Michael Andrew Kelley Gifford; Olivia Kelley and Aidan O'Neil. The family would like to thank Dr. Grenville Machado the staff of Manor Care Nursing Home and Heartland Hospice for their help and support. A memorial mass will be held at St. Vincent's Church on Wednesday December 31 2003 at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be private.
