John Jaber

June 13, 1926 — December 28, 2014

John Jaber left this earthly realm suddenly on Sunday, December 28, 2014. He is now at peace with the many loved ones who passed before him. Johnny, the eighth of nine children, was born June 13, 1926 to John and Melia Jaber in Fond du lac, Wisconsin. At a very young age he moved to Akron, Ohio with his family. He graduated from 'old' South High and attended the University of Akron for several years. John was a Navy veteran, proudly serving our country in the South Pacific during the second World War. Afterwards, he worked for and retired from Kohn Distributors for Stroh's Brewery after 30 years of service. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Mary; brother, Fred Jaber; sisters, Lily Joseph, Louise Nime, Freda Staitz, Melia and Matilda Jaber; many other beloved relatives and friends. His memory will be cherished by his daughter Judy(husband, Monte) McAnear of Amarillo, TX; granddaughters Courtney Warren (husband, Beaux Corley) of Jaco, Costa Rica and Jaimie (husband, Yancey) Jones of Amarillo, TX; great-grandsons Bray and Croix Jones also of Amarillo; brothers Louis Jaber of Akron and Donald (wife, Pat) Jaber of Cape Coral,FL; many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Johnny was a rare and unique gift to the world. In his earlier years, he was gregarious, hilarious and party loving. As time went by, he settled down a bit but still maintained that spark. He loved good food, good friends, family, sports and playing cards. Through the entirety of his life, he was generous to family, friends, strangers and charities, sometimes to a fault. But is there really anything wrong with that? May God bless you our father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend!! Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 15th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Hilary Catholic Church, 2750 W. Market St. in Fairlawn.
