VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE John V. Fitzgerald 78 of Cleveland died February 2 2006 at Hospice Care Center. John was born on February 26 1927 in Akron OH. He served his country in the Navy during WWII and graduated from Akron University in 1950. He retired in 1985 after 32 years of service with Chessie Railroad Systems. John was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Mary (Whitman) Fitzgerald; brothers Donald (Stella) Fitzgerald Edward Fitzgerald; sister Helyn Kaenan and greatnephew Dylan Fitzgerald Carlton. He is survived by his nieces and nephews Mary Jo Boesche Maureen (Lyn) Shepperd Donna (James) Carlton Robert (Sandy) Kaenan Karen Fitzgerald and Richard Zaidan Richard (Dale) Kaenan Kathleen (John) Allrutz; greatnieces Kimberly Norton Jacqueline Fritz and Erin Carlton; sister-in-law Thelma Fitzgerald and those in Cleveland who knew him as Uncle John. John leaves behind many devoted friends from Chessie Railroad Systems St. Sebastian class of 1941 and Church of St. Mel Cleveland. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday February 6 2006 11:00 am at St. Sebastian Catholic Church 476 Mull Ave. Interment in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at St. Sebastian Catholic Church Monday between 10:00 - 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Dylan Fitzgerald Carlton Scholarship Fund 226 Kent Student Center Kent State University Kent OH 44242.
