John Dietrich passed away after a very short fight with cancer on Friday, September 13th at the Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospice Care Center. A resident of Barberton, John was born in Schardenberg, Austria on November 23, 1947. In1953he arrived at Ellis Island with his mother, Maria and brother, Michael both whom preceded him in death. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He attended Zion Lutheran School, graduated from Hower Vocational School and retired from Reuther Mold with 42 years of service. John will be sadly missed by sons, Bernie (Mary Kay), John (Lisa) and Jason. Papaw loved and cherished his grandchildren Brittaini, Zackery, Bethany, John Alan, Spencer, Ryan (Ashley) and Jessica and great grandchildren Markus, Lainey and Lily. Playing, teasing and tricking them, leaving them with many loving, fun and special memories. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law, Nancy Foky (Bob), Nephew Michael (Pam), Niece Debbie Jo George, (Ted), special neighbors Denny and Helen Carr, friend and ex- wife, Sue along with great nieces, nephews and cousins, and his loyal dog Gabi The family wishes to extend thanks to all the special staff at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospice Care not only for their loving, gentle care of John but also our family. Cremation has taken place. Private graveside services will take place at the convenience of the family, Pastor John Mashek, officiating.
