VIEW MEMORIAL PHOTO TRIBUTE John 'Jack' Bader of Akron died peacefully with his family by his side on June 26 2007 after a short illness. Jack was born February 7 1923 in Akron OH. He graduated from St. Vincent High School attended Akron University and served his country in WWII in the Army. Jack was a man of deep faith and an active parishioner of St. Hilary Catholic Church where he was a Eucharistic Minister and usher. He was a member of the Akron Roundtable Akron Kiwanis and Portage Country Club. He was a co-founder and owner of Ohio Gasket & Shim Co. Jack enjoyed boating on the lakes checking out antique cars and getting together with many long-time friends. Of all his many accomplishments Jack was most proud of his family. He was a devoted husband father grandfather and great-grandfather. Jack was preceded in death by his parents Charlotte (nee Halter) and Stephen A. Bader; sisters Mary Virginia Firestone and Eileen Wise and brother Lawrence Bader. Jack is survived by his wife of 62 years Barbara (nee Dettling). He left a legacy of integrity to his children: Mary (Thomas) Cochran Virginia (Michael) McGuckin Jeff (Linda) Bader John (Karen) Bader Thomas (Annette) Bader and David (Pam) Bader. He was 'Papa Jack' to his 18 grandchildren: Michael Matt Michelle Kelly Katy Molly Dan Tim Emily Sarah Christopher Jessica Kevin Andrew Matthew Ryan Alexandra and Joshua. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren brother Richard Bader and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday June 30 at 9:30 AM at St. Vincent Church 164 W. Market St. Akron. FUNERAL PROCESSION WILL FORM AT THE CHURCH. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
