John 'Jack' Van Auker, age 65, passed away on June 20, 2018. He was born on March 8, 1953 in Rochester, New York to the late Thomas and Agnes Van Auker. John was a 1971 graduate of Firestone High School, where he excelled at basketball being awarded in 1971, First Team All-City and All-County and honorable mention All-State. He then continued his education at Kent State University, graduating in 1977 with his bachelors in architecture. John retired in 2016 from Hasenstab Architects, Inc after many years of service. He had many passions, which included cycling and golfing and especially spending time with his family and friends. John was an avid sports fan, cheering on the Indians, Browns, and Cavs. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lynn; children, Mark (Hilary) and Lindsey Van Auker; granddaughter, Ella; brothers, Steve (Debbie), Tom (Tami) and Dave (Sandie) Van Auker and sister, Kelly Shaw (Don), and many nieces and nephews.
