Joan Kelley

Joan Marie Kelley 78 of Akron passed away on February 3 2010 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Joan graduated from Miami University where she met her husband John. She was a member of St. Sebastian Parish all of her life and served in many different ministries there taught great books and was a Eucharistic Minister Christ Child Society and a Rosary Cenacle member. She also assisted with enrichment classes at St. Hilary for many years and helped with Mass at Sumner on Merriman. Her greatest joy was being with her wonderful family. She enjoyed the many beach vacations with her family and grandchildren. Joan was a person of deep faith and devotion to her church. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 56 years John and her beloved children and spouses: Jim and Joan Kelley Paul and Sue Kelley Jack and Jean Kelley and Mary and Jim Lyons. Joan also leaves her precious grandchildren Paul Shannon Michelle (Ryan) Dirk Lauren Patrick Kathleen Brian Jimmy and Bradley and many dear friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday February 6 2010 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church 476 Mull Ave Akron. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at Hummel Funeral Home 500 East Exchange Street Akron on Friday evening from 4-8 PM.
