Jennifer Bessemer Marando passed away peacefully on June 5, 2020 after a courageous 6 week battle against covid 19. She was a fighter and had already beat cancer twice. Jennifer was born January 7, 1970 to Donald (Carol) and Linda Bessemer in Akron. Jennifer was raised on Bessemer Farms with her sister Crissy (Kolarik). She loved running through the irrigation sprinklers and corn fields. She attended Our Lady of the Elms Elementary and St. Vincent St. Mary HS (’88). She was a proud member of the Fighting Irish marching band and met her life long best friend Jennifer Haas. She graduated OSU with her Bachelor’s in Psychology and University of Akron with a Masters degree in counseling. Jennifer was a lifelong fan of Duran Duran and enjoyed their music until the end. Jennifer and Crissy opened an adoption agency, a foster care network and a counseling center. Adoption was always an important part of her life. They went on to also own an afterschool art enrichment program, a bowling alley and a counseling training program. Before she passed she enjoyed her position as Program Manager at Frontline. She and her loving husband Henry Drechsler shared 12 children. She leaves behind her children Grace Gonzales, Tatiana Bessemer, Hayden Drechsler, Haylee Drechsler, Morgan Marando, Evan Marando, Brick Bessemer, Ella Bessemer and Sydney Bessemer and her 2 rescue furrbabies, Stewie and Hector. She was a self-proclaimed “professional mom”. Jennifer was an adventurous traveler and believed life should be made of experiences. She was a motivator for those around her and encouraged others to follow their dreams and be strong. The most important thing to her was her family. She was loving, forgiving and fun. She planned the best vacations and always found the best bargains. We believe heaven for her will be an everlasting cruise with endless beautiful ports. There are no words that can express how deeply she was loved and how greatly she will be missed. Calling hours 06/11/20, 3:33p to 6:33p, memorial service 06/12/20 10:33a both at St. Hilarys church.
