Jean Young

Jean L. Young 85 of Akron passed away peacefully Wednesday October 16 2013. Jean was born and raised in Marietta OH by the late Edgar and Frieda Matthews. After graduating from Marietta High School in 1945 she married her husband John of 62 years. She was a loving mother and grandmother to her nine grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family and particularly enjoyed outings with her grandkids family holiday gatherings and sending cards for special occasions. She was an avid Cleveland sports fan and enjoyed watching golf with John. She was preceded in death by her husband John who passed away in July of this year. Jean is survived by her children Kristi (Doug) James Leslie (Sevren) Maynard Matt (Lindsay) Young grandchildren Caroline Callie Ryan Savannah Olivia Joshua Cullen Abby and Carter. She is also survived by her three nephews Andy Mark and Dan Young. A memorial service will be held Friday October 18 2013 5 PM at the Hummel Funeral Home 3475 Copley Rd. Copley OH 44321 with Rev. Amjad Samuel officiating. Visitation will be held from 3PM - 5PM at the funeral home prior to the service.
