Jean Stover Tremelin died peacefully August 11 2010 after a well-lived life. She was 83. Born in Akron Ohio August 31 1926 to Edith (Shepard) and Carl Stover Jean was graduated from Buchtel High School in 1944. She earned a degree in chemistry from Hood College in Frederick Maryland then returned home to work at Goodyear Research where she met her future husband Jim. They were married in 1951. Over the years Jean greatly enjoyed work and friendships through volunteering with The Children's Home The Junior League of Akron Akron General Medical Center Women's Board and most recently at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She reveled in the pursuit of golf despite an incurably awful swing as a longtime member of Congress Lake Country Club and later Portage Country Club. Jean was most joyful in the company of children puppies and her many friends. As a grandmother she was perfection. Preceded in death two years ago by her husband Jim Jean will be dearly missed by her son Scott daughter-in-law Marguerite (Dannemiller); grandchildren Victoria and James; and lifelong friend Mary Norval. At the end Jean's days were filled with gentle care and kindness thanks to those at The Merriman and The Hospice Care Center. For this the family is most grateful. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Tuesday August 17 2010 at the chapel of St. Paul's Episcopal Church 1361 W. Market St. Akron 44313 with Rev. Mark J. Pruitt officiating. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
