Jean Geroch

Jean Geroch died May 4 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband Stephen V. Geroch M.D.; her brother Richard Van Deusen and her daughter Dorothy Geroch. She is survived by daughters Margaret (Joseph) Laker of Wheeling W.Va. Martha Geroch of Copen W. Va.; son Robert Geroch of Palos Park IL; brother Bruce (Ann) Van Deusen of Troy MI; granddaughters Elizabeth (Paul Laferriere) Bradburn of Kalamazoo MI Ellen Bradburn of Oakland CA; nephews Roger (Sandy) Van Deusen David (Evelyn) Van Deusen; nieces Jane Lanigan Elizabeth (Rory) Swenson Janet (Robert) Rice; cousin Jane Cobb and other relatives and friends. Jean was born on October 16 1912 in Lorain the daughter of Margaret Richards and Clarence E. Van Deusen. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Ohio Wesleyan University. During the depression she worked for the telephone company. She was a life long student of music; she played clarinet piano and organ. She volunteered with Akron peace groups and was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church. She enjoyed playing bridge and bird watching. She also enjoyed getting together with the Richards family cousins and the Van Deusen family especially during trips to Lakeside Ohio. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 am Tuesday May 9 2006 at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Akron 3300 Morewood Road. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Friends Service Committee 513 W. Exchange St. Akron OH 44302.
