Jean Paul Ferrin 84 died Friday February 24 2005 in Akron. He was born November 4 1920 in Springville New York to Floyd and Ethel (Botsford) Ferrin. He went to Ohio State University where he earned a PH D in Chemistry in 1947. He worked as a research chemist for Texaco in New York General Tire in Akron Polythane in Rhode Island where he was Research Manager and Monsanto in Akron retiring in 1985. He loved music and nature. Played French Horn in the Ohio State Band and Columbus Symphony while a student. He was a friend to all who knew him and will be remembered for his love of family and as a gentle soul who cared about humankind. He is survived by his wife Emma of 58 years; son Mark (Darleen) Ferrin of St. Paul MN and daughter Ellen Ferrin of Cranston RI; grandchildren Tracie (Rouvon) Simister David and Christopher Ferrin; brothers-in-law sisters-in-law nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of the Merriman and all of the nurses and aids in the past for their loving care of Paul. A memorial service will be held Friday March 4 at 2 PM at the Merriman 209 Merriman Rd. Akron OH where Paul lived the last 4 years of his life
