Jean Dort

Jean Frances Dort 86 of Akron passed away peacefully on March 20 2010 after a long illness. Jean was born in Massillon OH on August 10 1923 to Clarence and Arline Wenzel. She graduated from Washington High School in Massillon in 1941. She was a member of the first graduating class at Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in 1944. Jean was preceded in death by husband Frank brother James and sister-in-law Gladys Wenzel. She is survived by daughters Diane Linda Denise (David) Thomas Mary (Jeffrey) Stimler Carol (Daniel) Bradshaw sons David (Patricia) Paul (Christine) and Steven (Melynda) sisters Winifred Wenzel Patricia (Thomas) Chalfant brothers William and Richard (Esther) Wenzel and 14 grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday March 25 2010 at 10 AM at St. Matthews Catholic Church 2603 Benton St. Akron OH 44312. Procession will form at the church. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. Akron on Wednesday from 4-7 PM. Memorial donations may be made to St. Matthews Parish Foundation.
