Our beloved family member and friend, Jean Lee Davis, left her earthly home to be with her Heavenly Father March 20, 2019. Throughout her early childhood, Jean's parents instilled in her a sincere love for the Lord that has followed her throughout her life. Upon graduation from Manchester High School in 1965, Jean was a National Honor Society recipient. From that point on Jean's life continued as an active learner and educator. She graduated with honors from Miami University in Ohio with a bachelors in education and continued on to achieve a masters in education from Kent State University. Jean's faith and love for children has lead her to a teaching career in both public and parochial school settings drawing affection, love and respect from the children she taught. During her later years, Jean has been impassioned to discover her family ancestry and has uncovered her forebears history going back more than 200 years. From early on, Jean has felt the call to faith as she wrote at the time of her dear mother, Marcella's passing: 'I thank the Good Lord that many people have been put in my life who have helped me to know Him.' God bless you dear Jean as now you will be with the Lord as you have dedicatedly served Him --and to meet those forebears whom you came to know through your diligent ancestry research. In lieu of flowers, donations to www.donate.epilepsy.com or the American Cancer Society (in memory of Jean's mother) would be greatly appreciated. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 11:00 am at Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St., Akron. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hummel Funeral Homes.
