Jean Allread

Jean Decker Allread, 93, passed away Tuesday, 7 May 2024. Jean, the daughter of Guy and Dorothy Blean Decker was born 7 March 1931 in Fort Wayne, IN. After graduating from South Side High School in Fort Wayne, Jean attended Western College for Women in Oxford, OH for 2 years transferring to Indiana University, graduating with a BS in Education. Jean was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. While teaching for several years, she met and married Richard Allread, now deceased.

She was an active member of St. Paul Episcopal Church. Jean is survived by their children, Peter (Laura), Carrie, Thomas (Susan) and Daniel (Michelle), nine grandchildren, Forest (Olivia), Dylan (Addie), Wyatt (Bailey), Bizzy (Matt), Sam, Jake, Zach (Ellie), Gabi (Ben) and Grace, four great grandchildren, Wolf, Lark, Cliff, and Louis. Jean was a past member of Witan, Women's Board, Stan Hywet, Daughters of the American Revolution and very involved with genealogy research for over 50 years.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at St. Paul's Chapel followed by burial in the Memorial Garden.
