Jayne Kormanik

Jayne F. Kormanik 83 of Akron died December 2 2009 at Hospice Care Center. She was born on August 22 1926. Jayne was preceded in death by her husband Fred Kormanik; parents Leo and Minnie Haynes; brother Leo Haynes and sister-in-law Patricia Haynes; granddaughter Amie Kormanik; daughter-in-law Ella Kormanik; and newphew Danny Haynes. Her sense of humor love of dance and music and loving heart will be missed by all who knew her. Jayne was dedicated to helping juveniles and loved counseling and advising friends and family. A life-long resident of Akron she graduated from North High School attended Kent State University and received her master's degree from the University of Akron. Jayne was a substitute teacher for the Akron Public Schools. She was also a 24 year employee of Summit County Juvenile Court where she was a probation officer. Jayne was a member of the Ohio Correction Association Dancing Masters of America Rockettes Tour Group as well as a past member of Post 19 Auxiliary American Legion. Jayne also provided family counseling services in local court diversion programs. Jayne is survived by her seven children: Frederick Paul (Virginia) of San Diego CA Leo Kormanik Robert (Maureen) of Gallipolis OH Alice (Thomas) Chakonas James Kormanik Teresa Kormanik and Jayne Kormanik; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren nieces nephews and friends. A Memorial Mass will take place at 9:30 AM on Monday December 7 2009 at St. Vincent Catholic Church 164 W. Market St. Akron. Cremation to follow.
