James Phipps

James E. Phipps 79 formerly of Akron took flight to his eternal home in heaven on September 7 2012 after a brief illness. He arrived safely and is now in perfect peace and enjoying the best family reunion ever! He was retired from Concrete Cutting Co. and was a member of the armed forces where he served in the Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Clara Bell. He is survived by wife of 57yrs. Joan Phipps (Bauer) and children Jeff Phipps Jonilynn (Barry) Schreffler Jennifer (Ron) Fraser James Sean Phipps; 7 grandchildren 12 great-grandchildren; sister Barbara Thrasher of VA; brothers William of CA and Randy (Diane) of NY. Friends may call at Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St Akron on Friday September 14 from 4-7 PM. Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday September 15th at 10:30am at Our Lady of Victory Church 73 North Ave. Tallmadge OH. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
