James Knapp

It is with great sadness that the family of Jim Knapp, 57, announce that he passed away suddenly on November 17, 2018. A life-long resident of Akron, Jim was born on January 15, 1961 to Fred and Lillian Knapp. He was a 1979 graduate of Archbishop Hoban High School and a 1981 graduate of United Electronics Institute. Jim was the owner of Knapp Storage Systems, Inc. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brothers Billy and Joseph. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 35 years Sue (nee Ashley) and their daughter Lisa (Bryce) Myers. Papa will be missed dearly by his grandchildren Clark Henry and Hadley Elizabeth. Also left to cherish his memory are his siblings Tom, Denny, Ed, Mary K., Patty, Ann, Larry and their families, as well as loving in-laws and his many nieces, nephews, and life-long friends. The family will receive friends Friday November 23, 2018, 4-6 PM at Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St., Akron. Cremation has taken place.
