James Hilton

James L Hilton 89 loving husband father and grandfather passed away on August 12 2011 after an extended illness. Jim was raised in the North Hill area of Akron and spent the last 44 years in Mogadore. Anyone who interacted with him throughout his life came away from the experience having gained something valuable just by knowing him. He had a lifetime filled with personal and professional contributions to the area. He was a retired officer of First National Bank with 50 years of service. He served our nation as a naval aviator in WWII having served in the Pacific Ocean theatre. He was a 50 year member of Fairlawn Country Club. Jim was a very active member of many professional and civic organizations throughout Northeast Ohio. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Elizabeth 'Betty' children Larry (Rebecca) Hilton Janis (Larry) Jupin Laurie Hilton (Devon Reis) Jim (Amy) Hilton Steve (Dawn Marie) Hilton grandchildren Jack James Abigail and Audrey Ana Hilton an extensive number of loving relatives and beloved friends. He was preceded in death by mother Jessie brother Ralph sisters Kathleen and Ruth. Services will be held at 11AM on Saturday August 20 2011 at Mogadore United Methodist Church 3828 Mogadore Rd. Mogadore OH 44260. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery to follow. Friends may call at the Hummel Funeral Home 500 East Exchange St. Akron on Friday August 19 2011 from 3-7 PM.
