James Guthrie

James F. Guthrie (Jim) 72 died Thursday November 23 2006 from Cancer. He served in the USMC and was a veteran of the Korean war. After retiring from Norstan as the Executive Vice President and Regional General Manager Jim enjoyed golfing at Firestone with his friends until his passing. There and throughout Akron his memory will be cherished by those who appreciated his friendliness comedy and exceptional golf game. Jim was preceeded in death by his parents Grace and Francis Guthrie and sister Rosemary Guthrie. He is survived by his daughters Jennifer (Chip) and Marilyn (Paul) and sons Jimmy (Carol) and Chris (Tammy) his sister Connie (Ronnie) his brother Buddy (Marion) his seven grandchildren; four nephews and former wife Carolyn. Per his request cremation has taken place. Friends will be received Monday November 27 2006 at 8:30 AM at St Hilary Catholic Church 2750 W. Market St. Fairlawn with a memorial service to follow at 9:30 AM. A special thank you to all of Jim's friends who made his last days as pleasant and comfortable as possible.
