James Estep

James Dean Estep, age 58, passed away on August 7, 2014. He was born on the island of Oahu, Hawaii on March 24, 1956 when Hawaii was still a territory. He leaves to survive him his best friend and companion of 21 years, Bev Bertka; his cherished 'fur babies', Trooper Girl II and Liberty; Bev's children, Kelly Ann (Mark Yacobucci) Midcap and Kristen (Dan) Evens; Bev's grandchildren, Joshie L. and McKenna Midcap and Zachary, Abigail and Matthew Lang; Bev's brothers, Kevin (Beckie) Gifford and Jim (Barbara) Gifford. He is also survived by his mother, Maxine (Ed) Wharton; father, James Dallas (Della) Estep; sister, Pam Givens; half sister, Jamie (David) Carbone; nephew, Christopher (Bethaney) Abrams; niece, April Abrams; special friends, Marilyn Caprez, Michele Crossley, Jerry Hanna, George Gunder, Don and Nancy Brown and Peggy Farkas, Elizabeth (Rick) Grizer. Bev would like to thank Kelly Ann Midcap, Mark Yacobucci, Chrissy Spangler, Amy Kovach, all those at Access to Care, Dr. Deborah Plate, Dr. Leano and Akron General Medical Center for all of their loving care. Jim, along with Bev, enjoyed the years volunteering as elves on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad Polar Express. He enjoyed helping manage Copley Village Condominiums I and II community pool. He also enjoyed music, including Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and all the 'Malt Shop Oldies'. Jim enjoyed reruns of Frazier, MASH and The Walking Dead. I shall pass through this world but once. Any good therefore that I can do or any kindness that I can show to any human being or animal, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again.
