Irene Vorndran

Irene Margaret Karl Vorndran passed away December 13, 2024. Irene was born July 28, 1949, the fourth of six children of Grace and Vernon Karl (deceased). Irene is survived by her son Karl Thomas Vorndran and grandson, Milo Thomas Vorndran, as well as stepchildren Tom, Kim and Missy Vorndran and step grandchildren, Levi Dutch Vorndran, Parker, Madison, Laci and Lexi, and great granddaughter Victoria. Irene was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Vorndran and her brother Frank Karl, sister-in-law, Kathie Karl and niece Kelly Karl. Her surviving siblings are Jan Karl Royer, Sharon Karl Casey, Mike and Olivia Karl, Mary Ann and Chris Cochran. She also has many nieces and nephews, and two of her favorite creatures on earth, Sassy and Socrates, her beloved cats.

Irene attended St. Vincent High School and graduated from Buchtel High School and received Bachelor’s Degrees from the University of Akron and Kent State University. She was employed by CVS and Joann Fabric and Crafts for many years. She was an accomplished and award-winning quilter and belonged to Fabric Friends and Portage Patchers Quilt Guild.

Irene was especially known for her never-complaining, sweet and positive nature. She always underestimated her own wealth of knowledge and outstanding talents, especially involving her great sewing abilities.

Calling hours will be Friday, January 10 from 4:00p.m. to 6:00p.m. at Hummel Funeral Home, 3475 Copley Road, Copley, OH 44321. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, January 11 at 11:00a.m. at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 1676 S. Cleveland-Massillon Road, Copley, OH 44321, with burial immediately after at Copley Township Cemetery, 3772 Copley Road, Copley, OH 44321.
