Ila Pearson

Ila Patricia Pearson (Nielsen), 81, passed away unexpectedly May 4, 2016. She was born in Bertha, Minnesota coming to Akron in 1957. Ila taught grade school in Manchester, Ohio and was an active volunteer at First United Presbyterian Church of Barberton for many years. Ila and Charles loved to vacation at Ocean Isle Beach, NC. She was a very loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. Ila is survived by her husband of 59 years, Charles; daughter and son-in-law Debra K. and Paul Gilman; sons David L. and Steven C. Pearson; grandchildren Marie E. Gilman, Preston Pearson, Adrian (Pearson) Abold and Nicholas Pearson; sister Shirley (Jake) Beireis and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 7, 1:00 p.m. at Hummel Funeral Home, 3475 Copley Rd., Copley where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment Copley Cemetery.
