Ida P. Naples, mother and grandmother, age 95, of Akron, passed away on May 7, 2014. Her grandchildren described her as elegant, quietly strong, graceful, and stubborn, with a unique sense of humor. She was born on July 13, 1918 in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania to the late William and Rose Pullinger. Ida was a resident of Akron since 1943 and was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church, their Sanctuary Society and Dramatic Club. Preceded in death by her husband, F. John; sisters, Clare Nalitz and Flora Berkowitz and brother Albert Pullinger; she is survived by her son, David (Cynthia) Naples of Austin, Texas; daughters, Andrea (Mike Norville) Naples of Missoula, Montana and Miriam Naples of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Diana Rose Goldthwait, Andrew and Zane Carpenter, and Joan and Leigh Trout and brother, Bill Pullinger. Calling hours will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, May 12, at the Hummel Funeral Home (500 E. Exchange St. Akron). Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 Tuesday at St. Sebastian Catholic Church (476 Mull Ave. Akron): Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
