George Howard Considine, answered the call from the Lord and passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on April 22, 2014. He and his beloved wife Gene were married for 67 years and were true gifts to family, friends, and all individuals who crossed their paths. Howard is survived by his wife Gene Marie (Nelson) and is the father to five children: William Howard (Rebecca), Thomas Howard (Sue), Michael Howard (Denise), Christopher Howard (Teresa), and his favorite Karen Suzanne (Tim Mosley). Family was an important part of his life and he created a legacy of values and faith with his family. Howard worked 45 years for Ohio Edison and was active in their Men’s Club, Claims Association and Family Credit Union. He was also very active as a past parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and current parishioner of St. Vincent Catholic Church. He held numerous leadership positions with a variety of church, professional and service organizations. He devoted countless volunteer hours to Akron Children’s Hospital, St. Vincent Church, and Archbishop Hoban High School. He was very proud of these entities and their meaningful work. He was an effective leader and more importantly, a role model. Howard was respected and loved for his values and being his own person. He and Gene’s love for one another was beautiful and known by everyone. His legacy will live because of the lessons he passed on up to his final breath. His Easter Sunday conversation with the entire family was a remarkable life experience and a tribute to Howard . . . the son, the brother, the husband, the father, the uncle, and the grandpa!
