Henry Hook

Henry P. Hook 82 of Akron passed away Thursday September 7 2006 at the Summa Hospice Care Center as a result of congestive heart failure.. Born in Akron OH on March 21 1924 Henry had been a lifetime area resident. After selling his farm in 1959 he went on to work at Alside Inc. until his retirement in 1982. Henry then worked part-time at Blossom Music Center until 1994. He served many years as a Northampton Volunteer Fireman and was a long time supporter of the German American Club and a member of Grace United Church of Christ. Henry was an active volunteer usher for E. J. Thomas Performing Arts Center and the Akron Civic Theater. His passion was polka music and he traveled far and wide to dance to the music and share time with his friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Mary Hook. He is survived by his loving wife Betty (Strong); daughters Barbara Forshey Dianne (Dan) Kuntzman and Carol (Roger) Price; grandchildren Dawn Forshey Sherri Forshey David (Christina) Kuntzman Dick (Amy) Kuntzman Danielle (Scott) Heaton Dale Kuntzman Pat Kuntzman Adam (Jacqui) Price Jesse Price; and great grandchildren Kayla Dillon and Sarah Kuntzman and Maya Price and dear cousin Marilyn Becker. Funeral Service will be held Monday September 11 2006 1:00 PM at Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. Interment in the Northlawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Daniel Young officiating.
