Helen Wilson

Helen M. Wilson 73 went home to be with the Lord on July 19 2004. Helen was born raised and lived all of her life in Akron. She graduated from Central High in 1949. She worked at Stein's Drugstore and Hoban High School. Later she helped her son establish J. Russell Construction Inc. She was a life member of Concordia Lutheran Church but enjoyed worshipping with her grandchildren at Redeemer. Helen was preceded in death by her infant daughter her parents John and Helen Gehm and brothers Lawrence Russell Robert and Harry. She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years James P. She will be especially missed by her son and best friend James R. and daughter-in-law Julie. She will also be greatly missed by her grandchildren Stephanie Marie and James Russell Jr. who were the joy of her life. Gramma was the best fan. She was at every basketball and baseball game concert and play. She was very proud that her grandchildren shared her faith in the Lord. Mom you lived in our lives and now you live in our hearts. You will be treasured forever. Gramma we love you and miss you!!! Funeral services will be held Thursday 11:00 A.M. at Redeemer Lutheran Church 2141 5th St. in Cuyahoga Falls. Family and friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 P.M. at Hummel Funeral Homes 500 E. Exchange St. Akron and on Thursday at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Concordia Lutheran Church Redeemer Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
