Helen Sarvis

Born in Akron, OH 1/5/34 the youngest child of Charles & Anna Jahant peacefully & triumphantly returned to the Lord on January 19th exactly 2 weeks following her 90th birthday celebration with family and friends.

Helen, preceded in death by husband Chris, leaves behind her son Tom, daughter Anne Silliman (Jay) and son Dan (Barb). Her son John (Mayette) preceded her in death. Her grandchildren Matthew, Maggie & John Michael Silliman, Andrew Sarvis (Dan) and Anthony Sarvis (John) enjoyed every minute of her life and were truly blessed by her love.

Helen was a lifelong Akronite, attending Our Lady of the Elms, an athlete at Marymount College, NY and the U of Akron. Following college she taught second grade at St. Sebastian. Helen and Chris were married for over 52 years and worked together at the family business.

Helen's father Charlie co-founded General Tire and raised 8 children: Bill, Mary Ann, John, Tom, Jeanne, Chick, Anne & Helen. Her devoted niece Lisa was one of her loving caregivers for 7 years. Helen volunteered for several charities, loved the church, made her large family & God her focus.

Helen's love and character was unwavering. She was never trying or going out of her way to be good, she just truly was good and loved by all.

Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday February 2nd, 2024 at noon at St. Hilary located at 2750 W. Market St. Akron, OH 44333. Friends may call an hour prior to Mass for visitation. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a Catholic charity of your choosing.
