Helen Cory

This is me at age one. Now I'm 80and I'm gone. Born to Elias and Mary Farris Cory on November 3 1931. The third daughter when they wanted a son! Sam (Phyllis) came along after me... Too'q boorrny! Ya Sunnadee! My olders sister Esther (John Shiekh) went before leaving me and sister Joan (Ralph Karam) holding the fort. Four times a bridesmaid three a maid-of-honor never a bride but didn't matter. Enjoyed a 38 year career in the retail advertising field traveled the US and 5 trips across the ponds abroad. No matter how far or near I would go I always returned to Akron Ohio. The Cory & Farris families lived far and near cousins by the dozins that I love dear. My immediate family: 8 nieces/nephews 23 great 8 great/great- love to see and meet you all at a later date. Before I close let me tell you here about 6 very special gals. My dearest friends our 'Birthday Club' AKA 'Secret Pals.' Since 1948 we laughed and loved throughout the years in friendship as sisters with both happy and sad tears. I was baptised and anointed from St. Joseph Church the home to me that always was first. My latest my newest my dearest friend-my 'boss ' my priest clear to the end. Fr. Damon Geiger helped and prepared me to face... to send me off (I hope) to a better place! A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Monday December 5 2011 at 10 AM at St. Joseph Melkite Catholic Church 600 West Exchange Street Akron OH 44303. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at St. Joseph Melkite Catholic Church on Sunday from 3-6 PM. Trisagion will be held at 6 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Joseph Melkite Catholic Church or Hospice of Summa P.O. Box 2090 Akron OH 44398-6153.
