Harriet Slawter

August 31, 1902 — March 7, 2005

Harriet Slawter 102 was born August 31 1902 in Linesville Pennsylvania to Alonza and Lottie Woodard. She graduated from Indiana State College and taught school in Akron 39 years and 5 years in Pennsylvania. Harriet was a member of High Street Christian Church Billows Chapter 483-Eastern Star Toastmaster Club Retired Teachers Association and Ellet Golden Keenagers. Her favorite pastime was bowling baseball and ceramics. Harriet was preceded in death by her husband Damond D. Slawter Son- Raymond Slawter and daughter in law Jane Slawter. Four brothers and three sisters. Harriet is survived by her son Gerald (Anita) Slawter- Akron Daughter Patricia Pebbles - Bradington Florida. Grandchildren - Sherry Slawter of Medina David Slawter of Akron Rebecca (Sonny) Shively of Akron and Karen (Kenny Ammons of Bradington Florida. Great grandchildren - Joleen (Sheen) Ross of Akron Kendra and Kory of Bradington Florida. A Memorial service will be held at High Street Christian Church 131 S. High Street in Akron on Thursday March 10 2005 at 1:30 Interment in Rose Hill Cemetery Pastor Thomas Madden officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until the time of the service at the chirch. In lie of flowers the family suggests a donation to the High Street Christian Church or Ohio Chapter Myasthenia Gravis 2907 Lincoln Way Unit B Massillon Ohio 44646.
