Habib Kakish

Habib Isam Kakish 73 of Akron passed away peacefully on May 8 2012. Habib was born September 3 1938 in Amman Jordan to the late Jeries and Zahiya Kakish. Habib lead a very eventful life which was full of travel studying and working abroad and playing soccer. After leaving Germany Habib returned to Amman where he met his lifelong partner Samira. In 1973 he came to America to establish himself and then moved his family here a year later. Habib was employed for 30+ years at St. Thomas Hospital. During his time at St. Thomas he received many service awards for his exemplary work ethic and gained many lifelong friends and acquaintances. Habib especially enjoyed spending quality time with all of his grandchildren at soccer games swim meets school plays and many other events that made great memories. Habib is survived by his wife Samira son Jeries (Elizabeth) daughters Nawzat (Larry) Fisher Dima Kakish-Carr Linda Kakish; grandchildren Nathan Gabriella Grant Natalie and Sophia; sisters Anjel Swaiss Hiyam and Rose Kakish along with many nieces nephews and family around the world. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Samira (Saad) Ayoub and brother-in-law George Swaiss. The family will receive friends TODAY May 11th 2012 from 4-7PM at Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. Akron. Habib enjoyed traveling back to his homeland to visit his family and friends which is where his final resting place will be. Private church and burial services will be held in Amman Jordan per Habib's wishes. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the St. George Orthodox Building Fund and Akron Children's Hospital. As Habib would always say 'Take easy!'
