Gilbert B. Reymann Sr. ''Love Lives On'' Those we love remain with us For love itself lives on And cherished memories never fade Because a loved one's gone... Those we love can never be More than a thought apart For as long as there is memory They'll live on in the heart. Gilbert B. Reymann Sr. 96 of Akron died peacefully at his residence on December 10th. Gil was a life-long resident of Akron. He was the 4th of 16 children of Charles and Salome Reymann who immigrated from Alsace-Lorraine to the United States at the turn of the century. Charles Reymann was a founder of the Atlantic Foundry and the San Hygiene Corporation. Gil spent his entire career in sales and marketing at the Atlantic Foundry. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus (fourth degree) the St. Sebastian Holy Name Society and the Atlantic Foundry Sales Association. He was an avid golfer at the Sharon Country Club and a staunch supporter and yearly participant at Loyola of the Lakes Retreat House. Gilbert Reymann was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years Marie Aileen and by 12 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his brothers Fr. Albert Reymann Cletus Reymann and Fr. James Reymann. He will be sadly missed by his children and their spouses: Mary Beth Reymann of Akron Gilbert Jr.(Amanda)Reymann of Maryville Ohio; Isabelle Reymann of Fairlawn; Eileen Reymann Spoonster of Akron; Patrick (Nancy) Reymann of Akron and Timothy (Noreen) Reymann of Galena Ohio. Gil is also survived by 10 grandchildren Sean Reymann Erin Lockhart Joseph Spoonster Meghan Daubenmire Kiernen Spoonster Adam Reymann Blake Reymann Brooklyn Reymann Callie Reymann and Collin Reymann. He leaves four great-granddaughters and many nieces and nephews. Gil loved his cigars a good game of euchre and a glass of schnapps. Notre Dame football was never far from his mind. His tenderness was exhibited in his love for the song Edelweiss. The legacy he left his children was his gift of spirituality his zest for life his easy laughter as well as his never-ending love care and concern for everyone he met. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday December 13th at St. Sebastian Church. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery immediately following the service. Friends and family may call at the Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
